Chai Yoon Um
Chai Yoon Um is a PhD candidate in the Department of Architecture at UC Berkeley and a student researcher at the Center for the Built Environment (CBE). Her doctoral research focuses on indoor air quality, particularly on controlling infectious aerosols in indoor environments while maintaining energy efficiency. As a graduate student researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, she is currently involved in a project aimed at providing technical support for the evaluation of Germicidal Ultraviolet (GUV) disinfection for energy savings, decarbonization, and healthier buildings, funded by the DOE.
